Meatballs are so versatile….traditionally we tend to think of a classic Italian dish when we think of meatballs, but you can take them in so many different directions. Here is a super simple, meatball recipe, tossed in BBQ sauce.
Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey
1 egg
½ c bread crumbs
1 tbsp powdered garlic
1 tbsp dried parsley
2 cups BBQ sauce
Directions
· Preheat oven to 350 degrees
· In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well with your hands.
· Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet
· Bake for 20 minutes, until fully cooked through.
· When the meatballs are almost finished cooking, add 2 cups of your favorite BBQ sauce (I like Stubb’s) to a large skillet and heat over medium heat until sauce is gently simmering. If it starts to boil, turn the heat down. Add your cooked meatballs to the sauce and stir to fully coat them.
· Serve with your favorite BBQ side dish: salad, coleslaw, corn bread, etc.
